A few things have happened since the last one…
LiddleBit needs to change
The first big thing I discovered (completely by accident) is that the name LiddleBit is very similar to an existing company. So… I probably need to change it to avoid confusion. I honestly thought I’d done enough digging around, but clearly not!
Cue a small panic where I tried switching the name to LiddleUn, but after writing it a few times I realised I really didn’t like it. Anyone want a domain?
I have settled on a new name now, but thanks to my impatience I have to wait a whole month before I can swap it over.
For anyone who ends up in the same situation: ChatGPT is actually great for checking whether your chosen name is a good idea or might cause problems. Just click the research button at the bottom and ask it to look into any potential issues.
Lesson learned, I guess!
Rocket Duck
This week I also went to a new local group called Rocket Duck. They’re all about helping early-stage companies through networking and advice, exactly the kind of thing I needed the first time I tried starting a business.
There were loads of enthusiastic people with fantastic ideas, and the session kicked off with Andy Doyle, a successful local businessman, sharing the story of how he got to where he is today.
One of the most helpful parts of the evening was learning about ways to get funding and support, which were things I had no idea existed before now.
There’s another meet-up next month, and they’ve invited people to pitch their ideas… tempting!
